Villages don’t want monstrosities near them

Berwickshire News, www.berwickshirenews.co.uk 20 February 2012

We read in The Berwickshire News (February 9) that a new wind farm is being proposed at Horn Burn, within a stones throw of Ayton.

The article said that letters had been sent out to residents in close proximity to the proposed site. I consider that the whole of Ayton is in close proximity, but we have not received any letter or notification of a meeting in the Community Hall, apparently on March 1.

The article stated that wind farms are still a bone of contention for some people in the area. I suggest that this does not reflect the majority strong view AGAINST siting such monstrosities so close to villages, and major road and rail links.

As usual, the article quotes all sorts of facts which bear no resemblance to the real world. Why won’t the council planners appreciate that villages in their area do not want to have these monstrosities sited so close to them. We already have one battle on our hands with Blackmains – now we have another.
