It’s wrong to romanticize wind power

www.patriotledger.com 18 February 2012

In response to the recent editorial on wind turbines (“Don’t let faceless groups put their spin on wind projects,” Feb. 12: I’m against wind turbines. The cost and sacrifice is too high. It sounds romantic (power from wind), but it’s just not so. I thought it was interesting that the editorial states that the panel of experts agrees there are safety issues if turbines are too close to residents, but state law says OK if set back three times their height.

I’ve seen a chart that states a 190 pound man can consume around three alcohol drinks before he’s over to legal limit. So, according to the state’s logic, it would be OK for such a man to drive the neighborhood kids home from the school dance after three drinks.
