Energy Secretary wrong

I am glad to see the recent letters to the editor critical of wind power. It’s an asset but needs improvement.
1. Wind power generation should not be subsidized, it’s too unreliable. 2. Wind energy should not be given priority over hydro energy when transmission lines are at capacity. Letting water spill over the dams hurts salmon recovery efforts that already cost us millions. That’s nuts! 3. Wind power should be used to pump water to higher elevations so the energy could be available to meet peak demands. 4. Support natural gas development that could reduce foreign energy dependence. 5. Uncontrolled planning has resulted in a blight on the Eastern Washington landscape.
Energy Secretary Steven Chu has the wrong emphasis on wind and needs to adjust quickly for the benefit of the nation. He also has it wrong on the high-level waste repository and has mucked up the solar energy deal. And, I don’t see him pushing the pipeline from Canada either. I don’t think we can afford Chu any more.
