Group casts doubt over wind farm report

An anti-wind farm group, the Waubra Foundation, has rejected the findings of a CSIRO report into attitudes towards wind farms.
The study concluded a vocal minority who oppose wind farms are more prominent in the media and attract more political attention.
However, the foundation’s medical director, Dr Sarah Laurie, says the Government should be conducting medical research.
“I think we actually need to get away from opinions,” she said.
“I think we actually need to collect some hard data on the acoustic emissions that [are] impacting on people inside their homes and are making them sick.”
Dr Laurie says the report failed to interview people who say they suffer health problems due to wind farms.
