Another MP has joined the campaign against a proposed wind farm between Burton Fleming and Hunmanby.
Godfrey Bloom MEP and Greg Knight MP have already stated their opposition to a proposal from Banks Renewables’ bid.
Now, Anne McIntosh, MP for Thirsk and Malton has written to the No To Wolds Wind Farm Group, saying: “I have written to Charles Hendry MP, Minister of State, Department for Energy and Climate Change, expressing my concerns.
“I will inform the minister that the Yorkshire Wolds are not a suitable location for wind energy turbines.”
Steve Hey, chairman of the No To Wolds Wind Farm Group, said: “We are delighted Anne has now joined Godfrey and Greg in the battle against this ineffective technology and hope Charles Hendry MP will agree with the latest regional reports sent, which clearly show that the Yorkshire Wolds is not the place for this sort of development.”
Banks Renewables is collecting data at the site with a view to putting in a planning application to East Riding Council.
