Tove Action Group poster campaign against massive Towcester wind farm

Author: James Rudd, www.aboutmyarea.co.uk 9 January 2012

Drivers heading south out of Towcester on the A5 and residents of Alderton, Shutlanger, Heathencote and surrounding villages will have noticed the arrival of these striking posters protesting against the proposed wind farm.

The Tove Action Group (TAG) is coordinating opposition to the development and is ready to fight the plans when they are submitted by Gamesa to South Northants Council over the coming weeks.

This wind farm would have a massive impact on the area with eight industrial wind turbines 126 metres high (almost the same height as the Northampton lift tower) dominating the landscape for miles around.

The action group is focusing on raising people’s awareness of what the wind turbines would mean for the community and will be following up the posters with other action.

Watch out for the big orange ‘blimp’ that TAG will be flying around the proposed site (the blimp will fly at the height of the proposed turbines and will give people a much clearer idea of their scale).
