Consensus building?

Trouble, oh “we got trouble, Right here in River City!” (Falmouth) With a capital “T” (turbines), that rhymes with “C”, and that stands for Consensus building!
Selectmen are exploring consensus building as the ice cream flavor of the month that will produce appropriate public protections and the best bang for the buck.
So let’s assume selectmen are intelligent, open-minded, genuinely concerned with their constituent’s welfare and best interest. Now, explain to me the board’s slavish attachment to Mass Clean Energy Center’s (MCEC) ineffectual and costly problem-solving tactic.
The MCEC’s “alter-ego” (Mass Technology Collaborative) sold Falmouth this Bernie Madoff-ish (Harold Hill, in keeping with the musical) Ponzi scheme in the first place. Why then, should selectmen, not to mention all shareholders in Falmouth, trust this outfit when their track record amounts to a pile of dung?
Outrageous! Are selectmen convinced the MCEC will help us again? After all they’ve done? Oh, boy; pinch me!
Does it really take another layer of “town skin?” Selectmen know the problem. Simply put, the current turbine locations cause damaging health symptoms and disrupt the well-being of residents! Solution: move the turbines. Duh!
The selectmen have identified two mitigative options that achieve this. Wasting time, effort and town money on anything else begs the question, to coin an old Iowa term, are they “dense?”
