Pembrokeshire County Council withdraws report on controversial wind turbines at Princes Gate Spring Water, Ludchurch

A council report on the controversial proposal for Pembrokeshire’s tallest wind turbines has been withdrawn following complaints from objectors.
As the Western Telegraph has reported, the application by Princes Gate Spring Water for two 86 metre tubines near Ludchurch has been met with a storm of protest.
Residents and action groups have not only been alarmed at the thought of the turbines, but also at the fact that a report to next Tuesday’s meeting Pembrokeshire County Council’s planning committee, recommending approval, was completed before the closing date for observations.
A council spokesman said that the report was withdrawn because of the late submission of a statutory consultation reponse from the Dyfed Archaeological Trust.
This will be included on a new report, together with further responses, to go to a future meeting of the committee.
The Pembrokeshire committee of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales (CPRW), was ‘relieved and pleased’ at the news, said its chairman, Mary Sinclair, but is also querying the reason behind the withdrawal of the report.
