Jill Glavan has the details. It was a planned, deliberate act of civil disobedience. This weekend, protesters at the “kingdom community wind” construction site in Lowell ramped up their efforts – hoping to elicit a harsh response. “We attempted to get arrested but nobody was available to arrest us” Instead, protesters took pictures – and video – from inside the site. One, shows a group singing the Vermont state song. Green Mountain Power, the company building the 21-turbine ridgeline project, has been at odds with one of the nearby landowners, largely fueling these protests. A spokesperson says the state cleared the project – and many, including a group that rallied last month in Lowell, support it. But those against say it’s ruining the land at a high cost. Anger that this week, protesters plan to put into motion. They say this time – they want to be arrested.
