Two groups appeal Clifton wind farm project

Clifton – Two groups are now appealing the decision to give the go-ahead to a wind farm project in Clifton.
Clifton town manager Debbie Hodgins say local flower farmers Peter and Julie Beckford and the group Clifton Task Force on Wind have both filed paperwork with the town’s board of appeals.
Last month the Clifton planning board gave the final okay to a $22 million project to install five turbines on Pisguh Mountain.
The head of the planning board says the Beckfords are concerned about noise from the turbines, which would be about a mile from their home.
He says the task force is opposed to industrializing a natural area.
The board of appeals is scheduled to review the two complaints at a meeting on November 30th.
We’re told if they find merit in the appeals, the issue will go to a public hearing.
Developer Paul Fuller says the project has met all of the town’s requirements and construction is expected to begin by the end of the year.
