Cape Vincent pro-wind understanding of Cape Vincent politics is pure fantasy

Credit:  Jefferson's Leaning Left, jeffersonleaningleft.blogspot.com 9 November 2011 ~~

In a today’s Watertown Daily Times article, “Hirschey defeats White in Cape Vincent; victory for anti-wind group”, Harvey White is quoted as saying:

Anti-wind blogs have convinced people that Mr. Hirschey, Mr. Byrne and Mr. Schneider have the town’s best interest in mind, but those candidates ran a one-issue campaign to support WPEG, Mr. White said.
“These people, they’re trying to change what the Cape is. They want to change it into what they want it to be,” he said.

Holy crap! “These people” are not trying to change anything. They are trying to abide by the joint comprehensive village-town plan which does not allow for turning the entire town into a crappy wind factory for producing expensive power for lighting the Empire State Building. The Cape never was, and hopefully will never be what Harvey White wants to change it into.

In reality, the Republican campaign was multi-faceted.

Oh, by the way, thanks for telling everybody that the anti-wind blogs have convinced people that Mr. Hirschey, Mr. Byrne and Mr. Schneider have the town’s best interest in mind. I am even more convinced of that today than I was yesterday.
