Green Mountain Power keeps reiterating that 90 percent of Vermonters support wind power. This is totally inaccurate once people are educated and aware of the horrendous ramifications of large-scale industrial wind projects. I am appalled by the lack of concern for the proven environmental risks inherent in the Lowell wind project. I can’t help but be amazed by the blatant corporate unwillingness to protect our heritage and our environment.
My wish is for statewide education on the enormous risks of large-scale industrial wind projects so that there is not a continuation of these projects down the ridgelines of our entire state. Wind energy is an important alternative but not on the scale proposed by Green Mountain Power and the Canadian parent company, Gaz Metro. A test tower has just been put up on Eden Mountain – the next ridgeline to be assaulted.
