Public inquiry into wind farm

East Coast Target, www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk 2 November 2011

A full public inquiry is to take place to decide the outcome of the Orby wind farm appeal.

An application for nine-turbines on land off Marsh Lane is the latest attempt by Mark Caudwell to get permission for a wind farm at the site.

The plans were refused by East Lindsey District Council’s planning committee earlier this year and Mr Caudwell appealed to the planning inspectorate against the decision. Portfolio holder for planning, Councillor Craig Leyland, is pleased an inquiry will now take place.

He said: “The council planning committee refused this planning application for good reason and I’m pleased a planning inquiry has now been confirmed.

“The council will put forward a robust defence of its decision and it will also be an important opportunity for local people who would be affected by the development to have their say about its impact on their lives.”
