LIMESTONE – An EverPower Wind Holdings Inc. official responded to comments made by officials at a town of Carrollton meeting this week regarding a road-use agreement for the transport of wind turbine materials.

At Wednesday’s meeting, Dave Frederick, town supervisor, told an audience gathered in Limestone that EverPower officials had stated they did not have to pay for the use of Church Street and Nichols Run for the transport of up to 8,500 truckloads of wind turbine materials. The materials would be used to build a wind farm in the Knapp Creek and Chipmonk areas in the town of Allegany.

In addition, Mr. Frederick said that EverPower officials had stated that if the town fought their use of the road for the transports, the wind company would take the community to court.

In response to these statements, Kevin Sheen, senior director of development for EverPower, said the company would like to enter a road-use agreement with the community.
