Citizen’s Alliance for Responsible Renewable Energy is continuing its fight for what members consider the health, safety and welfare of the community by appealing special land use permits for a wind farm and meteorological towers in southern Mason County.
According to CARRE president Cary Shineldecker, the group’s legal representatives delivered appeal applications and fees to 51st Circuit Court today to appeal special land use permits for Consumers Energy’s Lakewinds Energy Park and met towers.
CARRE will be asking for an injunction and stay of construction, Shineldecker said.
CARRE will be seeking that the court either remand the special land use back to zoning, reverse the decision to approve completely, or amend the special land use permit to provide for community safety.
