A grassroots coalition called Wind Concerns Ontario is celebrating a decision by Hamilton city council.
Hamilton is the 78th – and largest – municipal government so far to pass a motion calling on the government of Ontario to halt industrial wind development, until proper health studies have been completed.
The group says it’s pleased Hamilton has joined a movement of municipalities “who recognize the deep flaws that plague Ontario’s Green Energy Act.”
Wind Concerns Ontario is also seeking the cancellation of a $7 billion wind and solar energy deal with Korea-based Samsung.
