Two wind farm turbine plans approved in Cornwall

BBC News, www.bbc.co.uk 23 September 2011

Two wind farm turbine applications have been approved by Cornwall Council.

Councillors have given permission for two 100ft (30m) tall turbines to be constructed east of Grampound by Airvolution.

Permission has also been given for five turbines at St Mawgan to go alongside an existing wind farm at Bear’s Down, subject to noise level assurances.

However, at the same meeting on Thursday, they rejected an application for five turbines at St Erme.

The St Erme application was made by Coronation Power.

It was the company’s second application after previous plans for seven turbines were turned down.

The company said it was considering appealing against the decision.
