Rethink on Staffordshire wind turbine scheme

Express & Star, www.expressandstar.com 16 September 2011

Originally plans were put forward by German company Prowind for four wind turbines in Hogs Hill, near Lichfield, but new plans are now in the pipeline for two smaller turbines. The plans have been submitted to Lichfield District Council.

The original 425ft wind turbines were due to supply the annual energy needs of 3,880 homes and would have been based near Harlaston and Clifton Campville.

But in March, planning officers decided the development should be refused as it would spoil the landscape and detract from Dunnimere Farm, a Grade II listed building.
