Wind turbine blade being hauled through Coldwater almost causes road rage incident

WTVB, wincountry.com 15 August 2011

Proof that wind power is getting more popular can be seen on a regular basis along U.S.12 in Branch County when those long wide wind turbine blades are being moved by truck to wherever their destination may be.

However, today in Coldwater, just east of Willowbrook Road, there was a different kind of wind blowing down the highway. Around 9:30 this morning, the east bound truck driver pulling a turbine blade decided to make a quick pit stop and parked his rig in the middle turn lane, pausing for a moment to run into the Speedway station.

Parking there didn’t sit too well with another semi-driver who was attempting to pull out onto 12 from Walmart. When the trucker emerged from the Speedway to return to his rig, the other truck driver began screaming obscenities and the two of them got into a shouting match before the wide load finally was again on its way and the second semi was west-bound and down, minus a few choice words blowing in the wind.
