Living with wind farms

The Four Corners presentation on windfarms on July 25, clearly highlighted the disasters that windfarms have created when built too close to populated communities.
Sadly, we the residents in the Waterloo area are now living with the reality of what windfarms actually do to a community, with social breakdown, vast environmental damage and unacceptable noise and pulsation levels, causing serious sleep depravation and associated health problems. No wonder residents are now leaving this once harmonious, beautiful, God created area.
Politicians and windfarm proponents who promote windfarms, but don’t actually live anywhere near them, have no right to say that they are safe.
Slowly, but surely the reality of windfarms in closely populated communities is being realized, and so Councils, Assessment Panels and decision makers have a duty of care. Firstly for the welfare of the communities they represent.
Landholders, think carefully before you sign contracts, not only are you putting your families at risk to health problems, but also your friends and neighbours, and you will certainly split your community!
The Waterloo and District Concerned Citizens Group does not oppose renewable energy generation and there are many alternative methods.
An immediate moratorium on windfarms is now required, with strict guidelines regarding locations, and distance from residences, together with thorough investigation into social, environmental and health problems.
We are strongly warned about windfarm impact from overseas, however nothing was done. Don’t let it happen to you!
