Stand up and stop wind farm

Credit:  Hi-Desert Star, www.hidesertstar.com 6 August 2011 ~~

Regarding a the proposed Black Lava Butte and Flat Top Butte wind farm:

Please help stop this attack on our desert! We are beyond fed up with “big business” from “big cities” trying to destroy what we protect and love.

Get real. Investors – not from our area – renting our public land – that’s right, our public land – so an out-of-state builder can ruin our area and profit. Who in the heck do they think they are? Put your wind park in your county, by your family and home, in your “public land.”

Let’s get our politicians to pass a bill or law or whatever that gives control of public lands to the public, through an election and a vote by the people! We are tired of others trying to ruin our lives and destroy our fragile environment.

We ride horses in the area they are now after. And twice now, once a few weeks ago and again on July 27, that helicopter is landing on our public land. The FAA says they cannot do that – but of course there’s no ID number on it to have the pilot cited. What kind of a sneaky plot is really going on?

Stand up, desert dwellers, and stop this permanently. Go to saveourdesert.com and see what you can do. A protest letter is attached to the site – make copies and have friends, neighbors and family sign and mail it to the land pimps at the Bureau of Land Management.

Leave our desert alone. This area is not compatible for this wind project as set forth in the U.S. Department of Interior’s criteria, set in February 2003. Go away, ’cause “We’re not gonna take this, anymore.”

Save our desert!
