Palmyra Township may pick up where Riga Township left off in the effort to allow a large scale wind farm.
The township zoning board met Tuesday night in a marathon meeting to pass an ordinance that could open the door for the development.
Exelon Wind backed out of a Riga Township proposal saying the ordinance was too restrictive.
The same group that so vocally opposed the Riga development was at the Palmyra meeting.
“We’re here because a number of those citizens have asked us to come out here and be involved and help educate the populace about the dangers of irresponsibly sited wind turbines,” said Joshua Nolan.
The issue now goes to the full Palmyra Township board.
