COLUMBUS – The Ohio Power Siting Board approved changes to the Hog Creek wind farm in Hardin County and the Blue Creek wind farm in Van Wert County during a meeting Monday in Columbus.

The board approved a new boundary for the Hog Creek project, which shifts the area 1,000 feet to the north. The two parcels are already under lease for the project. The shift will include an access road.

Two additional turbine models were also approved for a new Hog Creek layout that consists of up to 31 turbine locations. There were to be 27 turbine locations in the original application. The new number of turbines is expected to have a total capacity of producing 49.6 megawatts. The amended project area is still within the same 40,500 acres in Paulding and Van Wert counties.

The Blue Creek wind farm will add eight turbines as approved by the board. Blue Creek was also given conditions to comply with during the project, detailing what aspects and forms must be submitted.

The board deemed a public hearing for either project unnecessary.
