The lawyer representing the appellants in the Kent Breeze Wind Farm hearing says headway in the fight against turbines has been made.
Eric Gillespie, counsel for Chatham-Kent Wind Action and Katie Erickson, says the tribunal’s acknowledgement that industrial turbines can harm human health is a big step forward.
“I think it’s fair to say that the case has advanced the concerns of people regarding industrial wind turbines quite a considerable distance,” says Gillespie. “While it hasn’t achieved the ultimate outcome, it appears to be a very large step forward.”
Gillespie says new information has come to light from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, through a Freedom of Information request.
He says it could provide ammo to appeal the decision.
