Villager attacks wind turbine plan

A Stoke Hammond villager has hit out at plans to steam-roller a wind farm through for the area.

Sally Levkouskis and her family have lived in the village for 25 years and are furious that the public are being almost no time to mount a campaign against proposals to put up five 125-metre wind turbines in Dorcas Lane.

Letters of objection to a met mast, the precursor to the turbine application, have to be submitted to Aylesbury Vale District Council by August 2 – just a month after residents got their first glimpse of the shape of things to come.

Sally, of Newton Road, said the site was totally inappropriate for both the mast and the towering turbines.

“This has all happened so rapidly that there has not even been enough time for the various parish councils to have their meetings to discuss the matter properly and voice an opinion, let alone give members of the public time to catch their breath and act to reject it or form a multi-community Action Group it needs.

“The public exhibition was only held on July 1 yet already there is a planning application in.

“The met mast would be in an inappropriate location which will impact on the village and surrounding villages, not just visually, but on the grounds of noise/shadow/flicker/health/house depreciation value/environment/cost/ inefficiency/added traffic/insufficient access.
