The construction of a 14 wind turbine farm in Moycullen has been stalled.
There’s been a last minute objection to the plans which were initially granted by Galway County Council last month. (May)
An Bord Pleanala must now decide whether the development goes ahead or not.
The windfarm was to be built at a site west of the N59 in between Moycullen and Oughterard, and was expected to bring a welcome jobs boost to the area.
Objectors want the project stopped because of its proposed location, which is close to special areas of conservation.
A national heritage area is also adjacent to the site.
