A group of residents who requested amendments to improve the health, safety and welfare rules of the wind turbine section of the Mason County Zoning Ordinance will pay $1 for technical fees related to the amendments instead of the $6,240.91 actually incurred in the process.
The Mason County Board of Commissioners passed the measure 6-4 Tuesday, agreeing the county will cover the costs.
Commissioners who voted to assess the $1 fee were District 2 Commissioner Susan Boes, District 5 Commissioner Rich Morong, District 7 Commissioner Mary Nichols, District 8 Commissioner Curt VanderWall, District 9 Commissioner Jeff Barnett and District 10 Commissioner Lew Squires.
District 1 Commissioner Joe Lenius, District 3 Commissioner Bob Erickson, District 4 Commissioner Charles Lange and District 6 Commissioner Tom Posma voted against the resolution.
