Greed, ignorance

Press Republican, pressrepublican.com 13 June 2011

In rebuttal to the letter by Deborah (Lagree) Bushey: Wind companies depend on greed of people, ignorance, uneducation. I don’t recall naming names.

You say donate. Ask the North Franklin Animal Shelter if they receive donations for the unwanted, abandoned pets from me. I also donated to the town ambulance, Town for a Piano, when the Town Council that your father is on was using common sense to make up the wind law for the town.

It was put in the law that there will be no wind turbines in the hamlet of the Town of Churubusco. It’s amazing that the four councilmen lived in the hamlet – protected from turbine noise, real-estate devaluation and view. Common sense was certainly used to protect their interest and to heck with the rest of the town.

I have not complained about paying my taxes. It’s a fact of life. I have always worked and proudly paid my taxes without any handouts. I chose to live here and invest in a new home.

I told the council they could keep the money. I didn’t need anyone to pay my way. These people that couldn’t be bought, like Sherwood Parent, will tell you there is plenty of noise from the turbines.

Check with the town supervisor of Clayton and see how a town council and supervisor protect its people. They didn’t sell out their neighbors and their town to a wind company.

As I said, pull your heads out of the sand, see the light still on.

As far as making the town look bad, ask the former town justice. He did a good job when he had to answer to the judicial review in Albany. Now he is town supervisor.
