WEST BARNSTABLE – Opponents of wind energy projects on Cape Cod will hold a series of lectures over the next three weeks to highlight claims of health effects from the operation of wind turbines.

The series, sponsored by Windwise-Cape Cod, starts at 7 tonight at Lecture Hall A in the Science Building at Cape Cod Community College with a presentation by Lisa Linowes, executive director of Industrial Wind Action Group. The talk is called “Wind: So What’s the Problem?”

The Industrial Wind Action Group is a national advocacy organization that, according to its website, is “focused on the impact/benefits analysis and policy issues associated with industrial wind energy development.”

Other lectures in the series are scheduled as follows: On June 14, “Wind Turbine Syndrome: An Overview” presented by author Nina Pierpont, followed by “Recent Field Observations of Adverse Health Effects from Wind Turbine Developments in Australia” by Sarah Laurie; and on June 21, “Facts vs. Fiction: Realities of Life with Wind Turbines” presented by Lilli Green and Preston Ribnick.
