Proposed wind turbine at Strichen could pose safety risk

The safety of pilots would be under threat if plans for a wind turbine in Buchan were given the go-ahead, council officials have warned.
Irene Fowlie wants to put up a 106ft mast at Adziel Farm, Strichen, as part of a green energy plan for the farmhouse. The move has come in for criticism from National Air Traffic Services (Nats) and the British Airports Authority (BAA).
They claim the turbine would “adversely impact” on radar and air traffic control systems serving Aberdeen Airport, some 35 miles away.
