Victims of wind turbines putting an end to the scam

Cape Cod Times, www.capecodonline.com 23 May 2011

Greg O’Brien’s May 6 My View “Inherit the wind in Bourne,” your May 8 editorial, “Turbine trouble,” and Tom Gelsthorpe’s May 13 “Steamrolling the Bourne special town meeting” are very troubling views to myself and others who have been severely adversely impacted by wind turbines in Falmouth and elsewhere in the world.

Does not the common sense referred to in O’Brien’s commentary apply to the reasonable siting of these industrial power plants? Whatever happened to human rights? Is it OK to destroy some citizens’ quality of life, health and property rights?

Initially it was the wind turbine proponents who came into our towns with their coterie of “experts” and spiel of half-truths and fictional windspeak. “Clean and green” sounded right, and we were ignorant of the facts of wind power.

Now it is different. The wind has shifted. We who were forced to live in proximity to these vile monsters, along with those who have taken the time to study the detriments of industrial wind turbines, have alerted those communities coming under attack from big wind. The scam is coming to a close.
