Amended Bourne turbine-siting bylaw is headed to AG's scrutiny

Bourne Courier, www.wickedlocal.com 12 May 2011

BUZZARDS BAY – Bourne Town Clerk Barry Johnson said Thursday afternoon he would send the revised wind-energy conversion systems bylaw to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office for cursory review on Friday morning.

The attorney general has 90 days under state law to review the amended turbine-siting bylaw that was revised at the Monday night Special Town Meeting.

Proponents of the bylaw change as well as opponents have been inquiring about state review. Some wind–energy enthusiasts said they would send letters of complaint to the attorney general, outlining the way zoning bylaw revisionists were afforded a detailed presentation before voters while amendment opponents were not.
