Proposal to put up six huge wind turbines in north Devon

The Herald, www.thisisplymouth.co.uk 5 May 2011

Proposals to build a wind farm with six 86 metre high turbines in north Devon have been put forward.

Bristol-based Wind Prospect Developments Ltd has applied for planning permission for the wind farm at Wheelers Cross in Sutcombe, Torridge.

It is claimed the proposed wind farm will produce renewable electricity for around 4,555 homes per year.

The construction of the wind farm would take between nine and 12 months and the turbines would be in place for 25 years.

During its operation the wind farm would employ four to eight people per year.
