BERLIN CENTER

Superintendent Charles Swindler is waiting still to hear from Scotland-based company Proven as to why a wind turbine at Western Reserve High School toppled April 10.

All three turbines have been shut off in the meantime, and Swindler expects Proven to reimburse the district for electricity that would have been generated in the meantime. “We’ve met with the prosecutor’s office and will start preparing if they start bickering,” Swindler said.

The towers are being inspected, and the turbine pieces have been sent to Scotland for inspection. The turbine was one of three at the school installed in 2009.
