A group opposed to industrial wind projects is asking the Vermont Supreme Court to halt construction of a wind farm in Sheffield.
First Wind began construction last fall of a project that includes 16 turbines along a ridgeline in Sheffield. Opponents are appealing the project’s stormwater permit. They say the cutting of trees and building of roads could damage five headwater streams. The group is asking the court to stop construction until stormwater permit appeal is decided.
