Minch Moor wind turbine appeal rejected

BBC News, www.bbc.co.uk 29 April 2011BBC News, www.bbc.co.uk 29 April 2011

An appeal by a renewable energy company to site 12 wind turbines in the Borders has been rejected.

It brings to an end one of the longest running planning disputes in the region after the plans were lodged in 2003.

Developers Vattenfall wanted to erect the turbines at Minch Moor, just south of Walkerburn and alongside the Southern Upland Way.

However, a Scottish government reporter has upheld Scottish Borders Council’s decision to dismiss the application.
