WAREHAM – Town meeting voters tonight will consider an article to repeal the bylaw that permits wind-power projects.

Article 41 would also create a seven-member Wind Energy Review Committee, consisting of two citizens at-large, the town planner, a ZBA member, a conservation commissioner, an assessor, and the director of inspectional services.

The committee would be charged with completing a “study of the effects of wind turbines on the town of Wareham,” along with providing recommendations.

The study would be presented at the 2012 Spring Town Meeting.

But Article 41 also states, “no bylaw shall be submitted for placement on the warrant” to restore wind-power permitting.
