Windmill noise, health risks should be checked

North Country Now, northcountrynow.com 25 April 2011North Country Now, northcountrynow.com 25 April 2011

I hear so much about the benefits of windmills, and I wonder why anyone would not want to take advantage of a tax-savings for their town or community.

I have seen these monstrous blades turning in Chateaugay and on my way to Plattsburgh. They look so strange in the background of an aging farm and the homes along the way. The wings are moving behind the farm, but where are the people that live in the house? Did they sell it all off?

Now I am hearing that folks had to leave their homes due to the constant “jack-hammer” of the infrasound and low frequency noise from the turbines in the distance.

It seems that your health is at risk with complaints of sleep disturbance, headache, tinnitus, ear pressure, nausea, and the list goes on.

It is reported that none of these people had experienced these symptoms before the turbines became operational and the symptoms disappeared whenever they spent several days away from their home.

I just wanted to know: What is going on? Should we allow windmills in our communities?
