If the owner of Molokai Ranch tries to stand in the way of a proposed 200-megawatt wind farm on Molokai, Gov. Neil Abercrombie said the state is willing to confiscate the land needed for the project.
That was the message communicated directly by Abercrombie’s staff to Peter Nicholas, CEO of Molokai Ranch, according to Donalyn Dela Cruz, the governor’s press secretary. She confirmed the governor’s position this week.
The governor also expressed his position in an internal document viewed by PBN that was dated March 3 and addressed to Beverly Moore, a volunteer representative for the governor on Molokai.
