More than 500 people have attended a meeting held by villagers campaigning against plans to erect wind turbines near their homes in North Yorkshire.
Copmanthorpe Wind Farm Action Group held the rally at the village’s methodist church on Friday.
Organisers told supporters they would need to raise funds for legal help in their fight.
Banks Renewables wants to erect up to five turbines more than twice the height of York Minster.
The company said the Hagg Wood development could produce enough energy to power about 8,300 homes a year with the turbines measuring 145m (475ft).
Residents said they would fight to keep their rural view.
A planning application is expected to be submitted before the end of the year.
Tim Duffy, chairman of the campaign group, said: “There are many wind farm opposition groups across the country, we have talked to quite a lot of them and I’m afraid we require money as well.
“If they do indeed put in planning for the turbine we will probably need expert advice such as barristers and solicitors dealing with this sort of development.”
