Another standing room crowd of Osage County citizens forced Commissioners for the third-straight week to move their meeting upstairs to District Judge John Kane’s courtroom. The majority of the citizens were there to voice their continued concerns and protest the adoption of the county’s wind ordinance. Before opening the floor for public discussion, Commissioner Scott Hilton made this statement.

Many in attendance were still under the belief that if the Board of Commissioners, didn’t approve the wind mill ordinance, that by inaction on the part of the county, this might stop the wind producers and ranchers from constructing the farms. There was also concern from the Osage Tribe Mineral’s Council, that wind mill farms may violate the tribe’s mineral rights. Board Chairman Jim Clark explained.

After hearing from more than ten citizens, Osage County Commissioners voted 3-0 to approve the ordinance.
