Lawyer: Toss wind farm bids

A lawyer for a group opposed to a proposed wind turbine project in Colebrook is asking the Connecticut Siting Council to throw out petitions for wind projects in Colebrook and Prospect, following the recusal and resignation of the council’s former chairman last week.

Attorney Nicholas J. Harding, who represents FairWindCT, filed a motion with the siting council on Tuesday requesting a mistrial on all three petitions by BNE Energy Inc. of West Hartford.

BNE wants to erect two wind turbines in Prospect, and six turbines on two sites in Colebrook.

According to the motion, if the petitions aren’t thrown out, FairWindCT wants a continuance in all three matters so the siting council can reconsider the rulings that involved former Chairman Daniel F. Caruso.
