Ferry line puts business before the environment

It is unfortunate that so many people and business owners are looking for ways to make a buck from the Cape Wind project, which has still not been approved.
With the recent events in Japan and the Gulf oil spill to remind us of what devastation can result from unregulated and unsupervised energy projects, it is difficult to hear that so many can ignore the warnings and just go ahead with business as usual.
We cannot allow the Cape Wind project to go forward without first establishing the rules and regulations necessary for any offshore wind farm project. This industry needs to be tightly controlled, because a mishap of either a turbine coming down or an oil spill from the oil platform could irreversibly harm both the ecology and tourist attraction of the Cape.
The Cape Wind project is not a done deal, and for the Cape Cod Times to announce this cooperative program between Cape Wind and Hy-Line as though it were is irresponsible. We need more citizens to stand up to big business and politics as usual and demand that the environment be given top priority.
Hy-Line has done the Cape a great disservice in putting business ahead of local environmental concerns.
