In response to the March 10 letter, “Wind turbine carefully researched,” renewable energy is a great thing in the right place – but not in our back yards in Union Beach.
Do the chairman of the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority or the state representative supporting this project live just around the corner from a proposed industrial turbine? Was this project carefully researched, were corners cut, were the neighbors properly informed?
I would say “absolutely not.” In whose best interest is this turbine? Certainly not for the people who live in this small Union Beach community, too close to the site.
The first line of the Sierra Club’s mission statement is “To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the Earth.” Does it think that an industrial turbine is in a great place, where there are migratory birds?
