The wind farm company behind the failed bid for 19 turbines at Mynydd y Gwair, north of Swansea, has registered a fresh application.
RWE npower renewables wants to install an 80m wind mast for two years at the site to gather more data.
However, the application pre-dates last week’s appeal decision by Assembly- appointed inspector Stuart Wild.
He dismissed the appeal because of the potential harm it would cause to the local peat habitat.
Local campaigners celebrated the decision, and said Mynydd y Gwair was not for sale.
