PROSPECT – Kristen and Cyrus Clark live in Prospect for its quiet, small-town atmosphere. Two large wind turbines proposed near their backyard would take away from all that.
“They just really don’t belong in a residential neighborhood,” said Kristen Clark with her husband at her side at a hearing Thursday.
Members of the Connecticut Siting Council heard from the Clarks and others during a second day of hearings on a commercial wind farm proposed to be built on property off New Haven Road.
BNE Energy Inc., of West Hartford, wants to erect two 1.6-megawatt General Electric wind generators at 178 New Haven Road. It also wants to build six turbines in Colebrook – three on Flagg Hill Road and three on Rock Hall Road.
