Cohasset planning board voted to approve the controversial Turkey Hill wind turbine proposal at their meeting Wednesday night.

The board unanimously approved the state Trustees of Reservations proposal to build a 410-foot wind turbine on Turkey Hill off Route 3A, but not without a slew of conditions. Cohasset’s peer review engineer John Modzelewski said one of those conditions is restricting the amount of flicker on nearby residences, such as the Golden Living Center.

Modzelewski said, “At the expense of the applicant, ongoing post construction flicker monitoring and anaylisis shall be performed, to ensure no sensitive receptor shall be subject to more than 30 minutes of flicker per day and no more than 30 hours of flicker per year.”

Other conditions include post-construction monitoring of flicker and noise on nearby residences in Hingham and a condition requiring the applicant to bury utility wires underground.
