Wind turbine bill results in first legislative defeat for Walker

By Ann-Elise Henzl, WUWM, www.wuwm.com 3 February 2011

Gov. Scott Walker has been successful in getting nine of 10 bills passed as part of a special legislative session, which he said would spur job creation.

However, his tenth proposal, which would toughen regulations for wind turbines, has gone nowhere. The wind energy bill has not been scheduled for a public hearing in either the Assembly or Senate.

A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said Thursday that there are no immediate plans to pass the bill.

A spokesman for Walker did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
