BREWSTER – The board of selectmen discussed the idea of proposing a motion at the May town meeting to remove the Barrows property (off Freeman’s Way on the north side of Route 6) from its current status as a potential site for wind turbines.
They were concerned that residents believe the town is planning to put turbines there when they have in fact selected an alternate site (in Commerce Park) to lease land for two turbines.
“We want to take it out of the turbine discussion,” Selectman Ed Lewis said.
The Cape and Vineyard Electric Co-operative has also said the site is less suitable.
