Iroquois County Board members are considering dramatic increases in application fees for wind farm development.
The fees and regulations have been under reconsideration since Nov. 9, when the board placed a six-month moratorium on new wind farm applications.
The board’s planning and zoning committee last week suggested a $50,000 fee for an application for wind farm development under its “wind energy conversion system” ordinance. The current fee is $1,500.
